The M-Audio Audiophile 192 64-Bit PCI Interface - This is how I connect my computer to everything that is musical in the outside world. USB and Firewire are great but there is no substitute for dedicated PCI. I plan on keeping this card for quite a long time. It will handle all my needs for my home studio. All my gear and software work great thru this soundcard and the balanced connections allows the sound quality to be clear and precise.
Trouble hearing the music?? You may want to save "Nathan's Piano Music" to your computer. The Piano songs on this site are in ".wma" or ".mp3" format and can be played in either Microsoft's Media Player or in Nullsoft's Winamp player.
For many, all you need to do is "Right Click" on the SongName.wma and choose "Save Target As...". Then simply select a location on your computer (My Documents or Desktop perhaps), select "Save" and remember where you choose to save the file.
Once the song has downloaded - double click the song from where you saved it. The advantage to saving it on your computer as opposed to streaming it over your net connection from this site is that you can then listen to the song whenever you like - even if you are not connected to the internet. This also helps to reduce the amount of data transfer (songs from my site to you) and thus my overall costs associated with making this music available to you.
Lastly, if your computer seems to be playing the song without an error message and you still can't hear, do make sure that you actually have speakers connected to your computer, that they are indeed on, and ensure that the volume is set to an audible level. You may also want to check the volume control on your computer.
If you're still having trouble, just save yourself some time and Order Nathan's Piano Music CD. This way you can listen and enjoy my soothing piano music in your home, office or even in your car - no hassles, no computer startup time, just easy listening.
